Antigo High School Shooting: 18-Year-Old Suspect Gunned Down by the Police

Another school shooting occurred during the Antigo prom on April 24. The suspect was an 18-year-old alumnus who carried a rifle and opened fire.

According to Mirror, the 18-year-old gunman, Jakob Wagner was a former student of Antigo High School. The reports mentioned that Wagner graduated from Antigo High School just last year. Wagner opened fire and injured two individuals, but none was reported dead.

The cause of the shootout was not confirmed yet as thorough investigation was not yet done. The shootout was dubbed as something unusual for a small town, but the residents were thankful that no one died. What made the incident puzzling was the gunman's motive. Most of his peers described Jakob as someone nice and sweet. On most of the Facebook posts of the people who knew him, it was evident that he did not exhibit any violent nature, let alone a motive for the killings.

"He lived a couple houses away from me," one of his neighbors, Hannah LeVeqe posted on Facebook. "I have known Jakob for a long time and when I knew him he was a very sweet boy. He could have been battling a personal battle that none of us may understand. Now I am not rooting for him, I'm just saying we are all battling something no one else knows about and we make irrational decisions. I am sending prayers to all of the families involved and all of the people involved."

Breaking news from WSAW then emerged wherein it was reported that the shootout was finally contained. The police officer shot Jakob wherein he was pronounced dead just three hours after the shootout.
