Apple may be facing the biggest challenge ever. Experts predicted that the iPhone 7 may not have "attractive selling points" that will convince the masses to buy one. Are the iPhone 7 features too boring that it will entail declining sales for Apple?

According to Yahoo, Ming-Chi Kuo, a KGI analyst known for accurate iPhone predictions, said that iPhone sales for 2016 at its worst will be at 190 million, which is less by 3 million to its iPhone sales in 2014. iPhone 7 will be released this year and its non-attractive features may be the reason behind the predicted sales decline.

This is in contrary to the sales trends enjoyed by other leading smartphones in the market, which include Samsung, Huawei, Oppo and Vivo. Apple may still be among the leading smartphones but it seems to be showing a downward trend.

Factors Affecting iPhone Sales Decline

"While we believe the high-end smartphone market still has room for growth, the development of a newer, more innovative user experience is a prerequisite for growth," Kuo said. He also noted three things that the predicted sales decline can be attributed to.

First, there is more competition in the market. Second, the time needed to commercialize better and novel user experience technologies, and third, no makeover for the past years which makes the iPhone 7 features virtually a bore.

According to MacWorld, some iPhone 7 features include wireless charging. It will also have a built-in Touch ID on the touchscreen. More iPhone 7 features will include ditching the 3.5 mm headphone jack.

After a confrontation with the FBI, Apple is also bent on making the iPhone 7 “unhackable.” This is something that many tech-guys would look forward to as it runs contrary to the notion that “no system” is fully-secured.
