Known Marvel's first black superhero, Black Panther made his debut in "Captain America: Civil War" Contrary to what everyone thinks, however, the Black Panther actor, Chadwick Boseman explained that Black Panther isn't really a superhero.

Looking back at his history released by the Marvel website, Black Panther made his first appearance in Fantastic Four Vol. 1 No. 52 which was published in 1966. Black Panther shift from his alter ego known as T'Challa, wherein his superhero persona was not accidental.

During one of his interviews, Chadwick Boseman shared his two cents in regards his role as Black Panther. Boseman told the Toronto Sun that Black Panther isn't a superhero, contrary to what everybody thinks.

"You could argue that he's not a superhero," Boseman told Toronto Sun. "He's probably the only superhero who's a king of a nation, so he plays politician as well. What makes him special is he's strong, but he's not the strongest. It's more agility and more his wit and more his ingenuity."

Chadwick Boseman also explained that one of the things that made Black Panther stand out was the fact that he came from a lineage. Boseman stated that there were several Black Panthers that came before him (looking back at Black Panther's ancestors).

Chadwick Boseman mentioned that Black Panther needs to keep up with his legacy. This being said Black Panther has something to prove himself worthy of this lineage, unlike any other superheroes.

"If you know the comic, he has to live up to a lineage of other Black Panthers that came before him. It's that same thing as if your dad was a rock star, then how do you live up to being a rock star? How do you live up to being a king? How do you live up to a superhero? That's definitely part of it; that he has to prove himself."
