The "Ghostbusters" movie has drawn flaks over its casting list and storyline. Now, Melissa McCarthy has finally stepped forward to face the critics of the upcoming film and shared her thoughts about the movie.

"Ghostbuster" star Melissa McCarthy finally broke her silence when she appeared on "The John, Jay & Rich Show" as guest. The trailer of the upcoming film has received more than 600,000 dislikes votes on YouTube. When asked about it, the "Identity Thief" actress divulged that the new movie is a reboot and not a remake of the 1984 "Ghostbuster" movie.

Melissa McCarthy also opened up that the "Ghostbuster" trailer might be very confusing for some since it has made reference of some events that happened 30 years ago. The "Tammy" star also made it clear the "Ghostbuster" reboot will have the same story as the 1984 film but it will be narrated in a different way.

Aside from that, Melissa McCarthy also defined the resemblances of the old and new "Ghostbuster" film. Just like the old movie, the "Bridesmaids" actress divulged that the upcoming movie will feature four characters who turned out to be "unlikely heroes" when ghosts inundated the entire New York City.

'Ghostbuster' director Paul Feig addresses flaks from movie critics

Apart from Melissa McCarthy, "Ghostbuster" director Paul Feig also shared his thoughts about the very high number of dislikes on the film's trailer that was posted in YouTube. He said that he does not think that the upcoming movie will do poorly in the box-office despite the surge of thumbs down votes of the film's trailer.

Paul Feig also said that those people who pressed the dislike button were those who did not like the idea of having four women as main protagonists of the new "Ghostbuster" film. Though there plot of the film sticks to the original, fans should expect some changes in the upcoming movie.
