Microsoft Windows 10 Upgrade Priced At $112 After July 29; What Happens If You Don't Install It?

Microsoft is once again reminding Windows users about upgrading to Windows 10. After July 29, the software will no longer be free and anyone who would like to update by then will have to purchase this for $112. The operating system was rolled out nearly one year ago.

In a statement posted on the Windows blog, Microsoft said that there are over 300 million Windows 10 users. However, many still do not have the software installed and the free offer is almost up. Windows 10 Upgrade: Any Critical Consequences If Not Done?

Downloading the Windows 10 software that has been popping in your computer is a matter of choice. There are no other critical consequences if you choose not to upgrade after July 29, apart from paying $112. Windows 10 Upgrade: Downgrading Instead Of Upgrading?

You can still go back to Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 if you find that Windows 10 is not for you. In the free download, there's a grace period of one month, since the time you've installed it, to test the software out. If you stick with Windows 10, files and features related to Windows 7 and 8.1 will be permanently removed. The popping upgrade adviser will stop running after July 29 and this has been confirmed by Windows on its blog.

Windows 10 is faster than Windows 7 and 8.1 and blends the feature of both systems into one. Windows 10 also has a section for downloads, apps, cloud storage and the apps can be switched swiftly at the task views.
