'Frozen 2' News & Update: Religious Right Activists And Conservatives Reacts To Elsa Getting A Girlfriend; Asks To Stop 'Homosexualizing Kids

There is no doubt that "Frozen" was a success. In fact, the "Frozen" fever lingers even after a year since the animated film was released. However, "Frozen" fans are torn with Elsa's sexuality, should the Snow Queen get a girlfriend or a boyfriend?

Elsa Will Have A Girlfriend In 'Frozen 2'

Parent Herald previously reported that some fans want Elsa to have a girlfriend in "Frozen 2." The LGBT is campaigning to let Elsa represent their community by giving her a female partner.

In view of this, "Frozen" fans plead Disney to provide a LGBT storyline in "Frozen 2." They used the hashtag #GiveEslaAGirlfriend. Many were supportive of this cause. One fan wrote, "Making a kids movie with a queer character won't make your kids gay it will teach them that love comes in many forms #GiveElsaAGirlfriend."

Another fan wrote, "#GiveElsaAGirlfriend normalising a f/f relationship will help queer young kids accept & understand their sexuality, that rep is so important."

Conservatives Don't Want A LGBT Princess In 'Frozen 2'

"Frozen 2" director, Chris Buck told Fandango that Elsa will have a dramatic journey in "Frozen 2." "she's just starting to feel like she can open up and have some fun again. That's what was really good about the short - we could have fun with Elsa. And that personality... you will see in the next one," he said. Per CSN this was taken a step further by believing that the character will be a lesbian.

In response to this, the religious right activists and conservatives create a CitizenGo's petition, which gathered 65,000 signatures calling Disney to give Elsa a boyfriend in "Frozen 2" per Right Wing Watch. The petition requests that Disney promote a solid family value and represent the natural family. It encourages everyone to use the hashtag #CharmingPrinceForElsa.

"We call on Disney to follow its normal trend and create a Prince character to fall in love with Queen Elsa," the petition said. "We ask that Disney find a nice and loving Prince for Queen Elsa to fall in love with."
