'The Flash' Rick Famuyiwa: Can Ezra Miller's Barry Allen Solo Movie Top Grant Gustin's CW Show?

The highly anticipated "The Flash" solo film has finally found a new director in Rick Famuyiwa, who will take over the movie after Seth Grahame-Smith left the project. But can Rick Famuyiwa make Ezra Miller's DC Extended Universe flick even better than Grant Gustin's successful "The Flash" TV series?

Rick Famuyiwa Joins Ezra Miller's "The Flash" Solo Film

Deadline reported about "Dope" director Rick Famuyiwa signing on to direct "The Flash," which will star Ezra Miller as Barry Allen. "The Flash" was originally going to be written and directed by "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies" author Seth Grahame-Smith, who left the film due to creative differences. Rick Famuyiwa will still use the screenplay written by Grahame-Smith.

Rick Famuyiwa's involvement in "The Flash" is certainly a welcome one, since the director appears to have a talent for mixing drama with humor. He has previously directed the comedy drama "Dope," which follows three young "geeks" and their adventures in Los Angeles. There is a huge possibility that Rick Famuyiwa will be able to make sure Ezra Miller's "The Flash" will stay true to the DC character's trademark wit and unique storyline. But will "The Flash" solo film be better than Grant Gustin's CW show?

Will Ezra Miller's "The Flash" Solo Movie Be Better Than Grant Gustin's TV Series?

Grant Gustin's "The Flash" show already has an established following and fans were undoubtedly ticked off by DCEU's decision to recast Barry Allen with Ezra Miller. "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" director Zack Snyder had previously defended the recast by stating that DCEU exists in a different universe from the TV Arrow-verse (via New York Daily News). Although Rick Famuyiwa's "The Flash" solo film might not feature the same campy humor as Grant Gustin's CW show, there is a huge possibility that the movie will have its own brand of hilarity. Ezra Miller's "The Flash" solo movie is scheduled for release on March 16, 2018.

Do you think Rick Famuyiwa's "The Flash" solo film will be better than Grant Gustin's "The Flash" TV show? Let us know in the comments.
