Sachse, Texas Teacher Accused of Indecency by Special Needs Students

A child as considers a teacher as their second parent, but not all teachers have their student's best in mind. Such is the case with 35-year old Michael Roell, a special education teacher at Hudson Middle School in Sachse, Texas.

Roell has been charged with one count of indecency with a child, an already grave offense both in the eyes of the public and especially in the eyes of the law. However, police have reason two believe that Roell had two victims, according to reports from Fox News.

Cherish Hooper, a mother of a child with special needs in Roell's class, was interviewed by officials. In her statement she said her son told her "that the teacher was touching him all the time with his clothes on, grabbing his behind, grabbing his crotch area, rubbing him." The incidents happened in multiple locations including inside the classroom and outside in the park.

When questioned by the police, Roell simply said that he did not touch the child inappropriately, but he was simply "checking on a rash." When asked about why he went with the boy to the comfort room, Roell said that he went not to watch, but to assist the child. Roell also reportedly groped his victim by the locker while the student was getting his belongings.

Several other students, along with the victim, were questioned about Roell's behavior. When school officials were questioned, they said that none of the students in Roell's class needed assistance to use the restroom. The school officials also said that Roell "should have never touched or watched any of the juveniles interviewed."

Reports from NBC News state that Michael Roell has been on paid administrative leave since May, but has recently been given an arrest warrant. After giving his affidavit, he is currently free after posting $5,000 bond.
