Next James Bond: Unknown Actor Picked Over Tom Hiddleston Has Met Barbara Broccoli? Who Is Wayne Devlin? [PHOTOS]

For months, Tom Hiddleston's name was much buzzed about as the next James Bond. His casting for the part seemed like a sure bet, especially after rumors suggested that he's already met with the producer. However, it looks like there's a twist to this whole search as a new and relatively unknown actor has apparently also met with Barbara Broccoli for the iconic role. So, who is Wayne Devlin?

Wayne Devlin's name as the next James Bond first surfaced in an exclusive report from Headlines & Global News. It stated that people with connections to EON, the production behind the James Bond movies, have seen the method actor with Broccoli.

The 39-year-old actor's credits are quite slim as he has mostly done bit parts on TV shows. He's also uncharacteristically like James Bond in terms of looks and he's the first to admit he's not a fit. "Not unless they want a bald Bond," Devlin said, per Manchester Evening News.

Wayne Devlin's real talent is in singing and he can croon like Frank Sinatra. He is quite well-known for this in his local town of Trafford, but now he's being hounded by newsmen asking if he's really going to be Bond. The actor believes that rumors about him playing the next James Bond started off in a Twitter chat. But he reiterates it's all strange and silly. "There's no way I'm getting that role," he said.

Meanwhile, from being the front-runner, Tom Hiddleston has since been shooting down rumors he's replacing the role Daniel Craig played for a decade. Hiddleston told the audience at the Wizard Wold Comic Con recently that he doesn't think EON will announce him as James Bond, per The Week.

Other strong Bond contenders include Michael Fassbender, Tom Hardy and Idris Elba, who would be the first black Bond if ever that happened. Bond director Sam Mendes implied, after he announced he's leaving the franchise, that the casting of the next James Bond will surprise everyone. But even then, he's not sure who this will be.
