According to creator Sam Esmail, Rami Malek, as Elliot Alderson, in "Mr Robot" Season 2 shares similarities with Luke Skywalker in "Star Wars." While sussing out the likeness between Rami Malek as Elliot Alderson and Luke Skywalker, New York City shop Disrupt is encouraging fans to hack in preparation for "Mr Robot" Season 2.

Entertainment Weekly cites Sam Esmail in describing how "Mr Robot" Season 2 will pan out for Elliot Alderson. Sam Esmail references "Star Wars," specifically how Luke Skywalker transitioned from losing his family and home to finding his rightful place, to draw out "Mr Robot" Season 2.

Besides dealing with the repercussions of the hack to Evil Corp in S1, Sam Esmail explains that like Luke Skywalker, Elliot Alderson will be on a journey of self-discovery in "Mr Robot" Season 2. With this, Sam Esmail qualifies that "Mr Robot" Season 2 will be very different from S1.

As "Mr Robot" Season 2 opens, Rami Malek will have sought refuge at his mom's place avoiding all things tech and digital. This is his way of suppressing his alter ego Mr Robot, played by Christian Slater and avoiding a similar fallout as his fsociety hack in S1.

Preparing For 'Mr Robot' Season 2

Fans should keep a close eye on each character when "Mr Robot" Season 2 rolls in however, as Sam Esmail is said to have a fondness for "rediscovery." This means that "Mr Robot" Season 2 characters will not always be what they seem, much like fans still have to realize that one other character in S1 is not real.

Deadline cites casting directors Beth Bowling and Kim Miscia in describing the audition process for "Mr Robot." "It's such an advantage to have the arcs and see what you think might be a small character has a huge reveal later on, and being able to audition that huge reveal," Beth Bowling said.

In the meantime, Collider reports that Disrupt in New York City is offering fans hands-on experience in preparation for "Mr Robot" Season 2, including hacking an Evil Corp ATM. Rami Malek, Christian Slater and Portia Doubleday will be joined by new and returning cast in "Mr Robot" Season 2, which premieres on July 13.
