‘Bones’ Season 12 Air Date & Spoilers: Creator Teases Wedding In Series Finale

"Bones" Season 12 spoilers reveal that the upcoming season of the show will serve as its last on TV. In an interview with Zap2It, executive producer Michael Peterson shared that they are striving to make the upcoming season to be something that fans want.

"We're writing it very much from the fans' perspective," Peterson said. "We're going to put you through a rollercoaster ride, but do trust these are fans writing for the show."

Peterson also shared that they got the renewal order for "Bones" Season 12 after pitching in several loose ends from the previous seasons. Peterson explained that the upcoming season of the Fox series will provide a closure for these unfinished arcs and focus on Boothe (David Boreanaz) and Brennan (Emily Deschanel).

Entertainment Weekly also notes on Hart Hanson's participation in the writing process for "Bones" Season 12. According to the publication, Hanson is already considering writing for the series finale along with Stephen Nathan.

Hanson revealed that he already had an "ending in mind" for the show. Hanson shared that "Bones" Season 12 was supposed to end with a marriage.

"I had this idea how to end the show," shared Hanson. "As it went on, that idea changed to, 'Oh we'll end it on their marriage - that will be the end of the series, them getting married.'"

However, Hanson admitted that as time went on and as the show has been renewed for more seasons than they initially expected, the ending kept on changing. "Bones" Season 12 will have a different ending in mind and will provide an appropriate ending for the characters.

"Bones" Season 12 airs this winter 2017 on Fox.
