However, another theory suggests that Nina Dobrev's return in "The Vampire Diaries" will be as Katherine and not Elena. Per Movie News Guide, Bonnie will not die, so Elena will remain asleep. Thus, Dobrev's entry will be as Katherine and not Elena.
