‘Penny Dreadful’ Spinoff Will Focus On Catriona Vs. Dracula? Fans Petition For A Limited Season Run

"Penny Dreadful" has officially ended after Season 3 but fans are still hopeful that the series will live on for more years in another network or a potential spinoff. Several fans began raising an online petition in hopes of seeing a better ending to the Eva Green-led series through a limited season run.

A "Penny Dreadful" spinoff is not entirely out of the question yet despite Showtime president David Nevins and series creator John Logan's confirmation that the show has ended after three seasons. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Nevins shared that a spinoff is still possible.

"[As for spinoffs,] anything is possible at any time," Nevins said. "We're staying close to John [who has an overall deal with Showtime] - he's deep into 'Just Kids' with Patti Smith, which is going to be amazing."

This statement has sparked hope among fans of "Penny Dreadful" that a spinoff will be created out of the series. Many fans debated that Vanessa Ives' (Eva Green) death should not have meant the end of the show since there are other interesting characters to explore.

The "Penny Dreadful" spinoff would, therefore, be a great way to continue the show and explore other characters from the original series such as a Catriona vs. Dracula storyline. Fans have also raised a petition on Change.org in hopes of reviving the show in another network or through a limited last season run on Showtime.

Many viewers were distraught when Showtime confirmed that "Penny Dreadful" Season 3 served as the series finale. Fans thought that the ending was not well thought of and the limited season run will provide satisfaction to the viewers. Several viewers also thought of ending their subscription with Showtime following the cancellation of the series.
