'Teen Mom 2' News Update: VH1 Reality Show To Be Cancelled By Season 8 Due to Low Ratings?

"Teen Mom 2" fans are eager to know what their favorite celebrities are up to, but news emerged that the VH1 reality TV series will soon be cancelled. One of the angles being pointed out for the show's cancellation is the fact their ratings drastically dropped over the months.

Starcasm mentioned that the love streaming continually dropped as fans would often result to DVR and playback screenings. During the first two seasons of "Teen Mom 2," the reality TV series was able to gather more than three million viewers per episode, but as the season progressed, live viewings made a significant decrease.

It was highlighted that the shift between watching "Teen Mom 2" live to people watching "Teen Mom 2" through DVR, re-airing and on-demand are playing a vital role on the show's statistics. As per the data acquired by Starcasm, during "Teen Mom 2's" June 6 episode, 1.636 million viewers tuned in while the episode are but the numbers increased to 3,163 million a week after.

The shaky ratings of live episodes caused speculations that the reality TV series would eventually say good bye to their fans. Though it may seem possible, the website cleared out that the ratings skyrocketed based on what their demographics reveal. Some fans however speculated that the decrease in ratings was due to some cast member's exit as per Parent Herald.

"Teen Mom 2" has a vast variety of audience which doesn't focus to one age group alone. It was revealed that the rating went up from .9 (on live screening) to 1.9 rating. Their TV rating is considered as one of the highest in TV series'.

These being said, the show's cancellation is unlikely to happen as it reached 111% uptick which is said to be low a week before when it aired live. The ratings of "Teen Mom 2" are said to increase a week after the episode would stream, which still gave the TV network huge revenue.
