LGBT Teens Coming Out: Parents Threw an Awesome Pride Party After Their 17 Year Old Daughter Opened Up About Her Sexuality

It takes courage from teenagers to come out and talk about their sexuality. As some would usually receive backlash, there are those who were able to garner love and acceptance. As for one teenager's case however, her parents lovingly threw a pride party for her when she opened up to them.

Kinsey Ratzman, a 17 year old was able to get all the love and support she need after she opened up to her parents in regards to her sexuality. The teenager was told by her parents that they will be throwing an early 4th of July party, little did she know however that her parents already planned something out for her.

While she was at the mall with her with her cousin, she was unaware that her parents is preparing something for her. Her parents threw a rainbow themed party for Kinsey. To her surprise, everything was rainbow themed, even the food and a LGBT themed vegan cake.

Kinsley's awesome pride party was featured in Bored Panda. Several photos were also shared on their page too. Living in a generation wherein teens are not being bullied and even discriminated for revealing their sexuality, it is important to give them the love and support that they need.

According to Advocate, transgender discrimination among teenagers create a huge impact on their being, placing them at risk of suicide. Max Disposti, an executive director at North County LGBTQ Resource Center in Oceanside mentioned that LGBT youth suicide is often triggered when they are bullied not by their families ad loved ones, but by the community.

"I think there's merit in the theory transgender teens in the region feel supported by friends, family, counselors and many parts of the community, including the LGBTQ Center, so they feel comfortable being who they are as trans people," Disposti said. "But then when they experience bullying in the community, they can feel devastated by it."
