'Project Scorpio' To Have Xbox One Trade-In Compatibility; What We Know Now

Microsoft's newly revealed Xbox One S console at the E3 last month is already being prepped for the upcoming release of Project Scorpio. Even Xbox chief Phil Spencer also says that the new Xbox One console would be the toughest one yet.

The latest on Microsoft's Project Scorpio is offering a trade-in feature for those Xbox One users wanting to switch over to the upcoming gaming console, according to iDigital Times. So far, lead people of Xbox Services have been a little low-key as to the expected capabilities for the Project Scorpio console.

Why The Project Scorpio-Xbox One Trade-In Is Better

GM Dave McCarthy of Xbox Services said that Microsoft wishes for a smooth transition from Xbox One to Project Scorpio for all its users. McCarthy also said that the company's retail partners are also in the trade-in partnership trend these days.

Mcrosoft and Xbox are also keeping in line with their goal to maintain compatibility for users patronizing their products, such as PC, Xbox One S, when Project Scorpio gets out sometime next year. McCarthy added on the issue regarding compatibility, that there won't be a necessity to give up one's games.

The Project Scorpio trade-in feature further holds true to the Xbox Play Anywhere strategy, wherein Xbox One games would be playable on the new Project Scorpio console.

On Project Scorpio's Early Announcement

With Microsoft's competitors coming forward with new console releases and updates, such as Playstation 4.5, the early announcement of Project Scorpio's trade-in program aims to invite users and Xbox One fans to take their pick with more information as possible, Tech Radar reports. Xbox Division lead Phil Spencer says that the company also hopes to reach developers bent on creating new games as early as now to be fully aware of what they can work with on Project Scorpio.
