'Supergirl' Season 2 Air Date, Spoilers & News: S1 Re-Airing & Netflix Push On As S2 Filming Begins July 25; What The New Season Brings

The cast and crew of "Supergirl" are getting back to work for Season 2 this July. It's been widely reported that the show will be heading to Vancouver from its Los Angeles set as a result of the switch from CBS to The CW, but everything looks to be going well as planned.

YVR Shoots reports that filming for "Supergirl" Season 2 begins on July 25 and it's estimated to take place until April 26 next year. The show will be in the company of other series from The CW, such as "Arrow," "The Flash" and "Legends of Tomorrow."

"Supergirl" Season 1 To Re-Air On The CW And Netflix

In August, "Supergirl" is going to begin streaming its first season on Netflix, as part of The CW's deal with the streaming site. According to Screen Crush, curious viewers can finally catch up on the show via the service beginning August 1, while "Supergirl" will also be re-aired on The CW for two hours every Mondays. This is the network's way of making sure that the new show would be able to build its audience in time for its Season 2 premiere.

'Supergirl' Season 2: What To Expect So Far

"Supergirl" Season 2 returns to The CW on Monday, Oct. 10. Viewers can look forward to the appearance of Tylyer Hoechlin as Superman/Clark Kent, who will be immediately introduced in the first and second episode of the new season, per Entertainment Weekly.

"Supergirl" has also cast Wonder Woman Lynda Carter to guest star as the president. According to Deadline, the creators of the show have been wanting to have the actress since the beginning, so now it is finally happening.

Meanwhile, there will be less of Cat Grant (Ally McBeal) in "Supergirl" Season 2, but the show has brought in five new actors to play interesting new characters, as Parent Herald previously reported.

"Supergirl" Season 2 will delve into Cadmus Labs where Kara/Supergirl believes has her adoptive father Jeremiah Danvers. Project Cadmus is an integral storyline in the DC comics and the plan is to mine stories from this for the upcoming season, per Cinema Blend.
