'Outlander' Season 3 Spoilers, News & Update: New Season Will Have A 20-Year Time Jump; One Character Will Bid Goodbye In The Series

"Outlander" is currently on hiatus after airing its two-hour season finale last July 9. The last episode for "Outlander" Season 2 is heart-warming and so emotional that viewers wanted to see more of it. However, the next scenes will be continued in "Outlander" Season 3. Here's the latest scope we have about the upcoming season.

Jamie And Claire Will Reunite In 'Outlander' Season 3

Executive producer Maril Davis teased that viewers will see Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire's (Caitriona Balfe) anticipated reunion in "Outlander 3." However, at the time, the "Outlander" producers are figuring it out to present the scene in a manner consistent to the book. Although Jamie and Claire's reunion is imminent, fans have to wait a bit. Davis wants fans to feel the 20-year separation.

"I would hate to see them [Claire and Jamie] together immediately," Davis told Entertainment Tonight. "Like I said, we're still kind of figuring that out, but you should feel that 20 years has passed and it shouldn't be easy. That's a huge separation for them and they think they'll never see each other again,"

CinemaBlend reported that "Outlander" Season 3 would jump ahead a significant amount of time, probably 20 years. Thus, viewers will see an aged Jamie and Claire in their reunion.

Per International Business Times, Davis also revealed that "Outlander" season 3 would only have 13 episodes. The producer admitted that they do not have any release date yet but will start production later this year.

Someone Bids Goodbye In 'Outlander Season 3'

In a separate report from International Business Times, Frank (Tobias Menzie's), will be bidding goodbye after "Outlander 3" for good. The character is already dead on the show but he is featured in occasional flashbacks.

The role of Frank and Jack ends in the third "Outlander" book, Ronald D. Moore confirmed. Thus, Menzie's appearance in the series might not go beyond "Outlander 3" as well.

Of the several characters who bid goodbye in "Outlander" Season 2, who do you missed the most? Why? Are you excited for Claire and Jaime's reunion? Share our thoughts in the comment section below.
