'Jurassic World 2' Air Date, News & Update: Colin Trevorrow Not The First Choice? Dinosaur Sequel Combines Darkness, Horror?

"Jurassic World 2" under "Penny Dreadful" director JA Bayona will be a fresh combination of horror, genetic technology and darkness. Starring "Guardians Of The Galaxy" star Chris Pratt as Owen Grady and "Black Mirror" star Bryce Dallas Howard as Claire Dearing, "Jurassic World 2" will move away from theme park to a global scope.

Scified reports that JA Bayona, whose work was seen in "Penny Dreadful" and "The Impossible," was the first directorial choice over Colin Trevorrow for "Jurassic World." Interesting then that JA Bayona resumes "Jurassic World 2" after Colin Trevorrow exited for "Star Wars Episode 9."

With experiences as "Penny Dreadful," "The Orphanage" and "A Monster Calls" JA Bayona is expected to raise the element of risk and horror in "Jurassic World 2." A separate Scified report proposes that preparations of JA Bayona using novels by Michael Crichton for "Jurassic World 2" could lend the dinosaur sequel a darker touch.

JA Bayona rightly protects against leaks on how his direction will or won't depart from what Colin Trevorrow did in "Jurassic World." As reported on Parent Herald, Colin Trevorrow admits that "Jurassic World" would have looked and felt vastly different if not for guidance by Steven Spielberg.

Parent Herald cites that Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will pit their characters against a Pandora's Box type of fallout from their choices in "Jurassic World." According to Colin Trevorrow, Pratt and Dallas Howard as Owen Grady and Claire Dearing are responsible for opening this "Pandora's Box" in "Jurassic World."

Excitement over "Jurassic World 2" is understandable given the success by Colin Trevorrow on the first installment of the trilogy. Much more so because "Jurassic World 2" is the first time InGen technology will bring dinosaurs out into the open market of military and defense.
