Tour de' France 2016 Update: Peter Sagan Wins Stage 16 In Spectacular Finish, Chris Froome Still In The Lead [Video]

Tinkoff Peter Sagan's Tour de' France win now has him inching closer to Team Sky lead man Chris Froome. The 26-year-old road bicycle racer had certainly pushed the boundaries of the sport in this year's Tour de' France, not wanting to just get left behind.

The young Slovak is now making headlines after his photo finish victory during Stage 16 of the Tour de' France race this year, leaving Alexander Kristoff of team Katusha for that coveted win. Peter Sagan has always been in second place during the Tour, and everyone was in awe after he successfully bagged the victory, in a Telegraph UK post.

Even Team Sky frontrunner Chris Froome didn't hide his admiration for Peter Sagan's determination during this year's Tour de' France races. Froome said that Sagan can choose to be in the breakaway spot, and today's proof "he wants to ride" with his win in the Tour de' France Stage 16 leg.

Froome also didn't leave fans to disappoint after retaining a 1 minute, 47-second lead against Trek-Segafredo's Bauke Mollema. Fabian Cancellara (also of Trek-Segafredo) has revealed retirement plans when this year's Tour de' France season ends.

Meanwhile, Peter Sagan has acquired 405 points in the Tour de' France classification post-Stage 16, with 291 points for British lad Mark Cavendish of Dimension Data, according to BBC reports. During post-Stage 16 Tour de' France interviews, Sagan had stated that his most recent win was an indication that "destiny was turning his way", as shown during the young racer's lunge for the finish line.

Although Norwegian Alexander Kristoff of Katusha finished in the same time as Peter Sagan during Stage 16 of the Tour de' France race, he said that him not throwing the bike and not paying attention gave him a slight hint of disappointment over his performance.

Etixx-Quick Step's Tony Martin display of raw power during the last few minutes in Tour de' France Stage 16 wasn't enough to propel himself together with teammate Julian Alaphilippe. Still, he said that it was a happy ending for both, and that everyone hopefully enjoyed it.
