Geeking Out Premiere Date and News: Kevin Smith and Matt Damon Get Superhero Geeky; He Hates Captain Marvel?

The Geeking Out Premiere date was announced a few weeks ago and in a move to up the awareness levels of the new late night show, the producers and host Kevin Smith have invited Jason Bourne actor Matt Damon in what is probably the geekiest thing ever! Smith urged Damon to use his voice acting talent to portray some of the most famous comic book lines in history.

In the first teaser for the Geeking Out Premiere Date, Damon, who was nominated for Best Actor in the Academy Awards earlier this year, was game in working his movie star magic on three sets of dialogues presented by Kevin Smith. He first did a line by Guy Gardner, a Green Lantern, though he had trouble with a part of it. He then nailed his lines for The Dark Knight Returns-era Green Arrow and Captain Marvel. That "SHAZAM!" is especially very good.

Matt Damon also revealed that Captain Marvel was a major part of his childhood, Comic Book reported.  "I broke my foot or my ankle when I was three years old because I jumped off a Jungle Jim and screamed 'Shazam.'"

Kevin Smith is famous as a podcaster, public speaker, comic book writer, filmmaker, director and actor. He previously made the True North film trilogy and Mallrats. He also hosts the movie review show Spoilers and owns the comic book store Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash. He was a major interviewer and presenter in this year's San Diego Comic Convention.

The Geeking Out Premiere Date will be on Sunday, July 24 on AMC at 10:05 PM ET. It will air right after gothic action-comedy series Preacher.
