Teens Injured in Brooklyn Shoot Out: One of the 24 Shooting Incidents Reported n ENY So Far this Year

Gun incidents in the U.S. seem to happen almost everyday. Most researches would show that it is difficult to stay safe in any state today because of the rampant cases of the irresponsibility of gun owners. One incident in Brooklyn happened to be one of the serious occurrences this week where two of the four injured victims were teen girls.

Brooklyn News reported that "the shots rang out around 9 p.m. after some type of dispute, according to investigators." Based on the Police report, one 15-year-old girl was struck in the leg and the other girl who is 16 was shot in the arm. The other two victims were men, ages 20 and 21 and they were both shot in the legs. All four of them were brought to the Brookdale Hospital with injuries that were not quite severe. Police officers are yet looking for one suspect in the case.

There are 24 shooting incidents reported in the East New York precinct so far this year. Some of these were deadly while some involved serious injuries. No matter the intensity of the shooting or killing, it is quite alarming for the safety of Americans. The U.S. is now considered as a home to nearly a third of world's mass shootings, according to a CNN report. From 1966 to 2012, there are 292 incidents surveyed. 90 of them occurred in America. U.S. has 5% of the world's population and for the record, 31% of all public mass shootings belongs to this region of the world. Ranking next to the U.S. are the Philippines (with 18 incidents), Russia (with 15 incidents), Yemen (with 11 incidents), and France (with 10 incidents).

Americans seem to need an iron hand for discipline. Imagine those 46 years of poor regulation of gun violence and counting. If fair laws will be brought about in the lives of the innocent and even for the gun owners themselves, then one may not need to worry about the life of his or her family and even of his or her own life and have America as a safe haven to be in.
