'Sharknado 4' Release Date, News & Update: 'The 4th Awakens' Takes Fin Shepard Heroics To Las Vegas? Tara Reid Shocked By Viewer Poll?

"Sharknado 4" by Syfy and directed by Anthony Ferrante is back with "The 4th Awakens," taking Fin Shepard (Ian Ziering) to a shark-infested Las Vegas. TV-Movie "Sharknado 4" is also settling the score on April Wexler (Tara Reid) whose fate in "The 4th Awakens" is decided by interactive audience vote as a result of the third movie "Oh Hell No!"

According to The Hollywood Reporter, "The 4th Awakens" takes place three years from the final events of "Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!" Although the world seemed to have been freed of shark rain in those three years, "The 4th Awakens" will reveal unexpected infestation.

People reports that "Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens" will force Fin Shepard to play the hero once more as shark rain finds its way into Las Vegas. Newly married Matt (Cody Linley) and Gabrielle (Imani Hakim) will get into a bind in Las Vegas and dad Fin Shepard will hopefully get to his family in time.

The media outlet cites lead actor Ian Ziering on what makes Fin Shepard and "Sharknado" as a whole work. "We started off with a character who was an ordinary man and was willing to do extraordinary things to keep his family safe and together - that's the thematic thread that weaves through all of these movies," Ian Ziering stated.

"From there they build off these incredibly scenarios that really can only exist in the world of 'Sharknado,'" Ian Ziering said further. Indeed "Sharknado" offers highly incongruous situations, which surprisingly work - as "The 4th Awakens" can evidence.

"Sharknado" fans would be looking forward to seeing "The 4th Awakens" outdo the surprises of "Sharknado 3." Fin Shepard kicked ass with his chainsaw in "Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!"

So did novelist and "Game Of Thrones" producer George R.R. Martin, who kept his fans waiting for "The Winds Of Winter" book a few days longer to shoot a "Sharknado 3" cameo. George R.R. Martin valiantly agreed to be shark snack and closed his "Sharknado 3" scene with half of his body chewed up.

Most surprising of all for Tara Reid is fan decision for April Wexler in "Sharknado 4." The final tally was gathered from online voting and Twitter hashtag voting by "Sharknado" viewers.

The Syfy schedule for the "Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens" premiere is on July 31 at 8 p.m. ET. What do you think would get "Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens" to outdo "Oh Hell No!"?
