'Sleepy Hollow' Season 4 Air Date, News Update: Abbie Mills' Replacement Revealed? Ichabod Crane & New Washington Team Up Discover Secret Connection?

"Sleepy Hollow'" Season 4 brings in new blood from "The Vampire Diaries" series as replacement for previous fan favorite Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie). Diana or Anna joins Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) who continues his mission from New York to Washington in "Sleepy Hollow'" Season 4.

The "Sleepy Hollow'" Season 3 finale, where Ichabod Crane lost his partner and unofficial love interest, Abbie Mills, had been short of traumatic for fans. While fan outrage made replacing Abbie Mills a difficult task, "Sleepy Hollow'" Season 4 no takes a chance on "The Vampire Diaries" actress Janina Gavankar.

  Deadline reports that Janina Gavankar and Tom Mison will find their characters sharing a common ground at the "Sleepy Hollow'" Season 4 premiere. As Ichabod Crane lost Abbie Mills in the line of duty, "Sleepy Hollow'" Season 4 will reveal that so did Diana.

While "Sleepy Hollow" fans may find a few similarities between Diana and Abbie Mills, especially in how they clash with Ichabod Crane, the Season 4 newcomer is also a single mother. More importantly, however, Deadline reports that "Sleepy Hollow" Season 4 will reveal an unexpected connection between Diana and Ichabod Crane, which may or may not be linked to Abbie Mills.

Parent Herald reports that "Sleepy Hollow" Season 4 will also bring Ichabod Crane a new team in Washington. According to TVLine, the new Washington team, including Diana, will welcome Ichabod Crane in their confidential headquarters called the Secret Service "Basement."

Ichabod Crane and Diana will be backed by a genius analyst named Seth and jack-of-all-trades of sorts named Rosa, both of whom are yet to be cast. Ichabod Crane and Diana are set to debut as a team when FOX airs the "Sleepy Hollow" Season 4 premiere early in 2017.
