Parenting Tips: What Parents Should Know About The Danger Of Windows To Their Children

As parents, the safety of your children must be your priority. Unfortunately, most parents are not aware of this one place in their house that could jeopardize their child's safety and it is none other than their house windows. Lots of accidents have occurred involving children and windows every single year, which is why parents should take note of the many safety reminders regarding the windows in their houses.

In an article published by The San Francisco Globe, the locks on windows that are faulty are most of the time the reason behind a lot of accidents involving kids. Parents are complacent about this subject, which is also the reason why they were not paying much attention to the dangers that windows could bring to their kids.

According to The National Safety Council, statistics show that over 3,000 children experience injury from falling off the windows right in their own home. About eight kids who are below five years old die from accidents involving windows on a yearly basis.

A mother from Boise, Idaho, shared her experience on faulty window locks that almost took the life of her daughter back on May 27. Amber Boone was shocked to see her 3-year-old child fall from the second level of their house from an open window straight to their driveway. Her skull was fractured and her spleen was lacerated. KTVB said that although the child is about to recover from that terrible accident, it is going to take a while for her skull to completely heal.

Boone's daughter is just one of the many kids that unfortunately experience tragic accidents due to open windows. It is alarming that not all parents are aware of this issue. Make sure that your windows are well guarded. Share us your thoughts about this issue using the comments section below.
