Why Is It Hard to Get a Job For Teens Even in McDonalds?

When the federal minimum wage increased in the last few years, many companies hired more experienced employees and less young workers especially teens. Now ,it is quite a big challenge to even get hired in McDonalds at the age of 18.

The economy, which is at a huge stake today, plays a big role in teen unemployment. "In 2008, unemployment rates had risen to 7.3 percent, leaving 11.1 million people jobless - including teens.", DetroitNews reports. This reflects the preferences of many Americans to even grab the jobs that used to be for teens. For example are the fast food restaurants jobs. When they get hired, the teens lose their opportunities. In addition to this, more machinery are being integrated in companies including the fast food chains. More machines then, less manpower needed.

CNN reported last year that more teens get jobs. They said that "..the teenage unemployment rate in June was 18.1%. That's still high by historical standards, but it's better than a year ago when it was near 21%. The teenage unemployment rate has been falling even faster than the national unemployment rate." This data perhaps show that it depends on the state and even the teenage job market effectiveness or simply, the unemployment issue is getting solved gradually.

Teens can always have opportunities to work and it depends on their perseverance. Jobs are around. They can even seek great opportunities online. There are many places in Asia who want to learn English making "Teaching English Online" a great job opportunity. Such can also give them the idea of establishing their own tutorial company.

There are many tools that can be used online to seek jobs for teens. Most of these career exploration tools come for free. Some great employees today get their jobs online. In this age, most success stories are rooted from the world wide web.
