Blake Shelton Opens Up About How He And Gwen Stefani Ended Up in a Relationship

Blake Shelton opened up about his relationship with Gwen Stefani during an interview. Blake Shelton told the interviewers how their relationship came about and how it flourished.

Blake Shelton told Billboard that their relationship started when he looked over Gwen Stefani (who is his co-star in "The Voice") and tears welled in her eyes. It was when Gwen Stefani decided to move forward with her divorce from Gavin Rossdale whom she caught cheating on her with their kids' nanny. Blake Shelton was going through the same thing as he is also going through a divorce with Miranda Lambert.

"I won't forget that day," Blake Shelton said. "I looked over at Gwen-who I didn't really know-and she had these huge tears in her eyes. I thought it was going to be another one of those 'things are going to be OK' talks, she said, 'I'm going through something very similar to what you're going through. I understand. And I hate it."

Blake Shelton then added that their friendship grew as they started to talk about what they're going through, sharing their weekly experiences through email. Their communication eventually became constant as email shifted to text messaging.

"That's kind of how our friendship and bond started, that day," Blake Shelton added. "It went from that to checking in on each other once a week through email-'This happened to me, what happened to you?'-to maybe three times a week, then every day, to 'Hey, here's my phone number if you ever want to text.' Next thing I know, I wake up and she's all I care about, and I'm wondering if she feels the same about me."

As for Gwen Stefani on the other hand, "No Doubt's" former lead singer shared that she is grateful for Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton's divorce, Parent Herald reports. The "Cool" singer opened up stating that they both helped each other cope with their divorce.
