‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ Review: Will The Book Live Up To The Expectations? Where Does The Story Take You?

"Harry Potter And The Cursed Child" is the most awaited eighth installment in the Harry Potter series. But wait, it is not the nail biting novel that J K Rowling always deliver. This installment is very different from all the other Harry Potter books.

"Harry Potter And The Cursed Child" is actually the script of a play. After it is released, the play opened to overwhelming praise in London. It is creating ripples of ecstasy which is already expected from the franchise.

"Harry Potter And The Cursed Child" is written by J.K. Rowling, John Tiffany and Jack Thorne and is a beautiful and brilliant continuation of the story. Will it satisfy the whole 'Potterhead' community? We cannot be too sure. Since it is a play, the book has 300 pages of dialogue. This might not make it a page turner like the other Harry Potter books. But, I would recommend this as a must-read for all the Potterheads out there, reported People Magazine.

The story starts where the seventh book of the series left off. In the seventh book - "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" we saw that Harry, Ron and Hermione are 19 years into the future. In "Harry Potter And The Cursed Child," they are now parents of children old enough to go to Hogwarts, reported Reuters.

Albus Severus Potter, Harry's son, grabs our attention as he seems to have taken a lot of qualities from his famous dad. But, he is troubled. He has doubts whether he will measure up to his father's capabilities. He immediately bonds with fellow first-year Scorpius Malfoy. Scorpius is also haunted by the fact that he might not be Draco's son but the spawn of Lord Voldemort.

The children hit it off soon and are friends. However, there is a certain section which takes the book back in time. Remember, time turner? We can see the reappearance of the time turner in "Harry Potter And The Cursed Child."

Fateful events unravel as the time turner is used. Albus is determined to prove himself worthy. He wanted to use the time turner to change the fate of the Triwizard Tournament in which Harry participated. He is determined to bring back Cedric Diggory

Will this meddling change the history drastically? Will it turn better or worse?

The first half of the "Harry Potter And The Cursed Child" script ends in a staggering cliffhanger. The second part mostly deals with undoing the damage that Albus's and Scorpius's well-meaning quest brought about.
