Latest NBA Trade Rumor: New Orleans Pelicans Wants Kenneth Faried, Oklahoma City Thunder Also Interested In Player

New reports have surfaced saying that Kenneth Faried is on the trading block. The NBA teams that have shown interest in the Denver Nuggets player are New Orleans Pelicans and Oklahoma City Thunder.

For the New Orleans Pelicans, they reportedly want to acquire Faried because of the disappointing season that they had last year. Many thought that since the New Orleans Pelicans have 15 players under their team and a contract that costs around $97 million in total, they are through making moves for this offseason in preparation for the NBA season 2016-2017.

Accordingly, Dell Demps, a retired American professional basketball player and the current vice president and general manager of the New Orleans Pelicans, he has other plans for his teams. He reportedly wants to make a personnel change before training starts and it is about Faried. Demps might be planning to have Faried and star Anthony Davis come up with an athletic frontcourt for the New Orleans Pelicans, Sportsrageous reported.

Davis and Faried did a great team in 2014 when they were part of the USA team during the World Cup competition. The pair played well together in the past and it is expected that they will do the same if given the chance of playing together for New Orleans Pelicans.

Faried has three years left on his current contract and is set to make around $12 million this season. It is unclear, however, if Denver Nuggets is willing to give him up. It also is unknown who will the New Orleans Pelicans trade in order to acquire Faried. Those available from the New Orleans Pelicans are Jrue Holiday, Tyreke Evans, and Omer Asik.

As for Oklahoma City Thunder, it is reported that they want Faried to be part of the team after Kevin Durant left them during this 2016 off-season. Faried averaged 12.5 points and 8.7 rebounds per game last season.
