'iZombie' Season 3 Spoilers & News: Liv Finds New Love From A Woman? Producers Tease New Partner Will 'Not Die'

Liv Moore (Rose McIver) on "iZombie" hasn't had much luck when it comes to love. Being a zombie may have doomed the character's chances of finding her happy ever after. But things may turn for the better in "iZombie" Season 3 as the show's producers hint Liv will find a new love who will not die this time. But could this new person be a woman?

Speaking with TV Line, "iZombie" producer Diane Ruggiero-Wright revealed that she's not on Team Liv and Major (Robert Buckley), and that she badly wants to explore Liv's relationship with her best friend Peyton (Aly Michalka). The writer and producer said that both actresses have such good chemistry on screen together, which is why she would love to explore this relationship.

But while Ruggiero-Wright might only be joking about bringing Liv and Peyton together, Rose McIver declared that she's down on the idea. Executive producer and series creator Rob Thomas actually revealed that "iZombie's" female lead will be getting into a new relationship this year.

But unlike previous partners, Liv's new partner will supposedly not die. However, Thomas is already putting it out there that Liv's latest love story will lead to a break up, even if the new guy (or girl) isn't dead (or undead). Watch the whole interview in the video below.

Meanwhile, "iZombie" Season 3 is going to bring back a familiar face. Blaine's father, Angus (Robert Knepper), is set to return for three episodes, per Entertainment Weekly.

Viewers might also be thrilled to learn that "iZombie" Season 3 will deliver a special episode in the vein of "Law & Order," which the producers are really excited about. Fans can also look forward to Liv eating a dominatrix's brain, and the men zombies in the cast eating some brains and assimilating the personalities of its owners.

"iZombie" Season 3 is set to return on The CW in the mid-season. The show is currently in the middle of production in Vancouver.
