"Community" Season 6 served as the series finale for the comedy drama, which left many fans and viewers wanting to see more of their favorite characters. Their hopes were lit up when series creator Dan Harmon announced that a movie was inevitable.

While Harmon did not state that the "Community" movie was going to happen, the series creator admitted that the project is already in development, reports Entertainment Weekly. Even Joel McHale, who starred in the TV series, shared that the movie adaptation would bring justice to the story that Harmon has created.

"It has to have a real budget and it has to be probably pretty epic," he said. "We need money. Netflix has the money!"

While the online streaming service has yet to respond to McHale's call for support for the "Community" movie, Harmon said that he hopes the original cast would be able to return should the film happen in the future. However, a recent interview with Donald Glover revealed that the actor was no longer interested in reprising his role as Troy in the series, reports TVLine.

Glover explained that he refused to return for the "Community" Season 6 finale because he believed his character had to end. The actor, however, stated that he had a lot of fun during his time on the series and he was not running away from the role.

This led to speculations that should the "Community" movie happen, fans and viewers would no longer expect to see Troy in it. At the very least, McHale expressed interest in being on the movie.
