'Limitless' Cancellation News & Updates: Jennifer Carpenter, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, Hill Harper, & Colin Salmon Are To Blame?

It may come as a surprise for the fans and followers of the series, but "Limitless" is already affirmed for cancellation. More speculations have even surfaced that Jennifer Carpenter, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, Hill Harper, and Colin Salmon are the core reasons for the cancellation.

Despite the surging rumors, CBS has not affirmed that Jennifer Carpenter, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, Hill Harper, and Colin Salmon are the main cause for the decision. However, CBS did give explanations as the possible reasons for the cancellation.

According to an explanation given by CBS as cited by TV Series Finale, "Ultimately we had to look at the show; it was a very good show, but I don't think it connected with the viewers as well as other shows had." The first season may have fared well but it terms of the diverse storyline for "Limitless" Season 2, it seems that it is not enough.

CBS further pointed out that the showrunners and producers want to offer more shows to the table and improve the time periods as well and that is one of the reasons why "Limitless" Season 2 has been put off.

In a separate post from Game & Guide, it was unveiled that despite the petitions being voiced out to save the series and ensure the airing of "Limitless" Season 2, it was not enough to alter or change the decision of CBS. For some followers, it is a disappointment to follow a show and it gets canceled after ending the first season, according to the same report.

CBS and its network chief Glenn Geller remained firm and further relayed that the series failed to connect with the viewers and that is something that they deemed as vital, which is why "Limitless" would never get a season 2.
