Teen Suicide: What is the Most Effective Stress Reliever For Teens

One out of ten adolescents of age 12 to 17 is experiencing a major depressive episode, based on a recent study. Parents should be alarmed.

Teenage years are very crucial because of the fluctuation of emotions and major changes in the body happen during this time. Teens usually feel depressed and feel awful about themselves due to a lot external factors. When depression attacks, some teens just do things that can have life-long consequences.

If you are worried about this for your teenager, then here's a tip: have him or her do some physical exercise. A recent study showed that exercise can be effective in releasing stress and treating depression, the usual reaction to this is to commit self harm or suicide.

The study involved teens who are of 13 up to 17 year old, who did not have any major physical health problems, especially obesity. The data comparison of the use of exercise along with educational intervention, psychosocial intervention, treatment, or no treatment at all supports this study.

Exercise as an effective tool to treat depression does not promise to provide total treatment. Some teens may need more. It is therefore important to check with the doctor especially when anti-depressants are already needed to be taken.

Teens can get really stressed with many things and usually not need anti-depressants but just withdraw from things that give them stress. Some things to do are to just get offline, watch tv, listen to good music, and sniff some sweet arimotic stuff that can help soothe their emotions.

There are many reasons behind teen's being depressed and these should be well defined and later eliminated. Some possible reasons are competition in school, bullying, heartbreak, and others. Parents may need to intervene and take some time to sit down with the teen and talk about things. The ultimate reliever for the stressed heart, mind and body is love. Before the teen runs out of love, parents should create an unlimited supply of it in the home.
