‘How To Get Away With Murder’ Season 3 Spoilers, Latest News Update: Upcoming Season Teases Unimaginable ‘Mystery’ As New Actors Join Cast

There are still more than six weeks to go before the season premiere of "How to Get Away with Murder" season 3. However, the hit ABC procedural series promises an explosive television comeback as it features a "case-of-the-week" format and more dramatically complex plotlines.

Aside from the drama, "How to Get Away with Murder" season 3 will also deal with the backstories of some of the characters in the series. In fact, Parent Herald previously noted that the upcoming season may explore Bonnie's (Liza Weil) and Frank's (Charlie Weber) backstories, as well as Michaela's (Aja Naomi King) adopted family and the potential revelation of Laurel's (Karla Souza) dad's identity.

"The storylines that I have in my head are very rich and complex, so I don't know when we'll tell them, but I think they are worth seeing," "How to Get Away with Murder" season 3 showrunner Pete Nowalk said, as per Variety. "It's about making their characters feel believable and possible and those are the stories that I really want to continue."

Apart from Bonnie and Frank's backstories, there's also a possibility that "How to Get Away with Murder" season 3 will unravel more secrets. But Nowalk stressed he doesn't want to "overwhelm" the viewing public with some "nitty-gritty" information.

Moreover, "How to Get Away with Murder" season 3 lead actress Viola Davis, who plays the role of Annalise Keating, also revealed that the upcoming season will deal with a massive and unimaginable mystery in the upcoming season. As a matter of fact, Christian Times revealed that the mind-blowing mystery, which the cast can't even figure out, will emerge in the first episode of the series.

"A mystery is going to be revealed in the first episode that is so big and so unbelievable I just think it's going to cost everyone something," Davis told E! News.

Meanwhile, there are also other things to watch out for in "How to Get Away with Murder" season 3. One of which is the arrival of Annalise's potential archenemy, who also happens to be her new boss and Middleton University's newest president, Ecumenical News learned.

The new "How to Get Away with Murder" season 3 character, who's described as a "self-assured, friendly, warm and diplomatic" but only to those who have no secrets to hide, will be played by "Dexter" star Luna Vélez. In addition, Nowalk also confirmed the guest appearances of "NYPD Blue" star Esai Morales and "Grey's Anatomy" alum Amy Madigan in the upcoming series but no further details about their respective roles have been revealed, TVLine reported.

Morales and Madigan's guesting on "How to Get Away with Murder" season 3 came during the Television Critics Association summer press tour on Aug. 4. Meanwhile, "HTGAWM" season 3 will premiere on Sept. 22, Thursday on ABC.
