'Game of Thrones' Season 7 Spoilers & News: The Wall Is Coming Down & It's Bran's Doing, Producers Tease

The Wall that separates the undead from the living in "Game of Thrones" is going to crumble in the upcoming season. Producers teased that the groundwork has already been laid down and speculations are that the wall's fall might be Bran's doing.

Speaking with Deadline, "Game of Thrones" executive producers David Benioff & D.B. Weiss stated that they have already "laid out" what can happen to The Wall in the previous season. Living beyond this wall are the White Walkers, from the forces led by The Night King, who have been trying to breach it. But the producers made it clear that this Wall isn't just a "physical structure." Meaning, there is a magical hold on it, so it's not that easy to topple down.

"We have been laying out the likelihood that it's going to be more difficult to get past The Wall than that, but we wanted to put that basic prospect out there," the EP's said. That "prospect" is no other than Bran (Isaac Hempstead Wright) and this has been speculated by fans after watching how "Game of Thrones" Season 6 played out.

Viewers might recall that Bran -- with his warging ability to transcend time and space -- and the Night King were face-to-face at the Three-Eyed Raven's site. Viewers might also remember that the latter marked Bran and they are somehow connected now.

This hinted that Bran and the Night King could fuse their abilities to breach whatever magic spell holds the wall. Whether this is something that Bran wants to happen or not, as the executive producers said, the basic idea of how The Wall will fall has been presented to viewers.

Vanity Fair previously reported on the history of how The Wall was built in "Game of Thrones." It was Brandon the Builder from House Stark who facilitated erecting this wall centuries ago. In the "Game of Thrones" books, a legendary individual named Horn of Joramun was known to have the ability to break this wall. However, the character has been notably non-existent in the TV show.

"Game of Thrones" Season 7 is expected to return in the summer of 2017. Production of the new season will begin in the fall.
