NBA News: J.J. Hickson Heading to China; Finalizing Deal With The Fujian Sturgeons; Hopes To Get Back In The NBA Next Season

After 8 years of playing in the NBA, J.J. Hickson is reportedly moving to China and will play with Fujian Sturgeons. The Chinese Basketball Association might be the possible landing spot for Hickson since the NBA is somewhat getting fuzzy for him.

Marc Stein of ESPN reported that J.J. Hickson is about to finalize a new deal with the Fujian in the CBA. J.J. Hickson will start a brand new season with the Chinese league after failing to capture the Nuggets and the Wizards expectation from him. Hickson struggles to fight back against some prominent centers in the NBA due to his size for the position, which makes him unreliable to the both rebounding and defense.

J.J. Hickson was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2008 NBA Draft and played with the Cavs for 3 seasons. Hickson was traded to the Kings and within the season, he was waived and immediately claimed by the Trail Blazers via off waivers. J.J. Hickson then found a new home and brought his talent back to life that earned him a starting spot in a straight 80 NBA games. Signed with the Nuggets in 2013 via free agency, J.J. Hickson played as a starter during his first season with the Nuggets.

As the past seasons go by during his stint with the Nuggets, J.J. Hickson starts to struggle as the NBA climbed up to a whole new level of basketball playing style. High flying power forwards and the re-appearance of the high towering centers playing post-up backdown, this gives Hickson a lot of problems since he is undersized and was playing a traditional center in the size of a power forward, the fact that he is just 6 foot 9".

With an NBA career average of 9.5 points and 6.8 rebounds per game, Hickson will be joining former NBA star Carlos Boozer in the coming CBA season. According to TodaysFastBreak, both NBA players are hoping to get an NBA comeback next year after the CBA season ends.
