Teen Obesity: Focus on Saying No To Eating Less And Yes To Eating More To Weigh Less

Teens tend to diet a lot and still get frustrated when they weigh themselves. Why? Because they have become unhealthy. Obesity is usually attained when there is an imbalance in the body that no matter what you eat, such imbalance make all the food taken in converted to fats. Some experts say you should eat more and weigh less. How possible is this?

Eating more of the food that your body needs will actually let you lose weight and bring back the balance in your body. Dr. Terry Shintani from Harvard University said that peace is also the key to attain that balance but you can only attain that by being very keen with the food you take inside your body. Peace is not always achieved through yoga or any meditation practices but instead through the food you eat. Dr. Shintani suggests a good rhythm of foods like fruits, vegetables, beans, wheat and lots of water.

Some experts from the American Academy of Pediatrics say that parents should not let their teens engage in dieting but to a healthy, balanced lifestyle instead. Some improper dieting can actually lead to eating-disorders, which can become real serious problems later.

Teenage years are very crucial for some developments in the body from mental, physical, social, psychological, from skin to the bones and from hair to the toe nails. A healthy, balanced diet is very important to be taken in these critical years so as to achieve the best thinking skills and physical abilities and of course, the most ideal figure and attitude.

There are many ways to encourage your teen to have a healthy, balanced lifestyle. The key here is love. Do not waste time and express your love for your kid while he or she is still young because you'll never know, time will come that he or she will finally leave home and settle down. Raise him or her up in love and surely your kid will thank you for the rest of his or her life.
