Universal Studios Theme Parks to Add Mario, Luigi & Other Nintendo Characters

Comcast NBC Universal owns Universal Parks and Resorts. Academy-award winning director, Steven Spielberg, is the resort company's consultant.

Kyoto, Japan-based Nintendo is home to internationally-famous multimedia interactive games. The company offers games for Wii U and Wii, home consoles, and Nintendo 3DS, and Nintendo DS, according to Businesswire.com. Mario, Luigi, Donkey Kong, Metroid, Zelda, and Pokémon are the lead characters for these Nintendo games. Nintendo of America is the company's franchisee in the United States. Its offices are headquartered in Redmond, Washington. 

Universal Studios global theme parks are known for providing adventurous rides and attractions in multiple locations. Universal theme parks are located in Hollywood, California, Orlando, Florida, Paris, France, Singapore, and Osaka, Japan.

Your kids are in for more once-in-a-lifetime treat at Universal Studios theme parks. According to Businesswire.com, Nintendo and Universal Parks and Resorts are set to offer Mario, Luigi, and other Nintendo character attractions in Universal Studios theme parks. 

On Thursday, Nintendo announced that "The Nintendo Land" attraction will be available in Universal theme parks. According to Kotaku.com, Nintendo released an official statement, announcing the upcoming attraction in Universal.

"The immersive experiences will include major attractions at Universal's theme parks and will feature Nintendo's most famous characters and games," the company announced. In 2010, Nintendo president, Satoru Iwata hinted the possibility of a sole Nintendo attraction to exist at Universal Studios theme park.

"Countless times, the idea of a theme park has been debated and discussed, and there have been rumors in various forms," he said. "But at the present moment, there are no concrete plans." 

Meanwhile, USA Today reported that Nintendo and Universal Parks and Resorts only stated in a news release that more of "the immersive experiences will be announced in the future."

Additionally, the joint news release stated that, "Nintendo has created remarkable and imaginative worlds filled with captivating stories and beloved characters. Now, for the first time, those stories and characters will be brought to life in entirely new ways - only at Universal theme parks."

Future Universal Studios theme parks are soon to open in South Korea, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Moscow, Russia, and Beijing, China. The global theme park headquarters office is based in Orlando, Florida. The theme park operations CEO and chairman is Thomas Williams. The park's main executive vice-president is John Sprouls. Universal Studios theme parks have been popular forces in bringing "movies to life."
