The fate of "Girl Meets World" Season 4 is still up in the air, as Disney Channel remains mum about speculations that the show is coming to an end. While new episodes of Season 3 will continue to air till 2017, it is a known fact that production for the current season has already wrapped up.

In a recent interview with She Knows, Rowan Blanchard confirmed that she and the rest of the "Girl Meets World" Season 3 cast have not heard anything about the show's future. Blanchard, however, admitted that she is optimistic that there will be more episodes for the series.

Blanchard said that "GMW" Season 4 has to happen because she feels that there is "an important story to tell" after Season 3. However, one of the issues that lie with the show's possible cancellation on Disney Channel is the audience that the network caters to.

As most fans know, in "Girl Meets World" Season 3, the love triangle between Riley-Maya-Lucas has finally come to an end. With Riley and Lucas finally deciding to enter into a relationship, many fans believe that Disney Channel is not the best network to keep up with the growing characters.

As Zap2It notes, "Girl Meets World" Season 4 may show some progress in their relationship, as well as show growth in its characters. Moving to Freeform may serve the show a better purpose because the network caters to an audience beyond Disney Channel's target.
