‘The Walking Dead' Season 7 News & Release Date: ‘TWD’ Cast Could Survive Without Daryl Dixon?

"The Walking Dead" Season 7 premiere is not a safe "TWD" episode for Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus), to whom Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and company might have to say goodbye. Despite "TWD" fan protectiveness for Daryl Dixon, analysis says "The Walking Dead" series could survive without Daryl Dixon.

Comicbook points out that "The Walking Dead" canon by creator Robert Kirkman never had any need for Daryl Dixon. However, the addition of Daryl Dixon in the AMC series of "The Walking Dead" had been an unanticipated success among "TWD" fans.

  The media outlet further says that if "The Walking Dead" Season 7 does away with Daryl Dixon via Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and his bat Lucille, the "TWD series could still remain story-tight. Still, Comicbook highlights that while Daryl Dixon is not as essential as the other integral "TWD" cast, having Norman Reedus' character in the AMC series makes for a much more enjoyable watch.

To be sure, "The Walking Dead" series has been making good use of Daryl Dixon in its arcs. As Comicbook points out, Daryl Dixon not only adds star power to "The Walking Dead" series but also provides catharsis for conflict, which keeps the other "TWD" cast from unraveling too much.

Or when "The Walking Dead" series went through dull Season 2, but was saved by Daryl Dixon being unpredictable. While Daryl Dixon is too smart a "TWD" marketing inclusion to be eliminated at "The Walking Dead" Season 7 premiere, Hollywood Take points out that Daryl Dixon is in danger of extinction. If, however, Daryl Dixon does come through "The Walking Dead" Season 7 premiere, Dwight (Austin Amelio) will be the unlucky target of grief from Daryl Dixon.
