"God Of War" 4, from Sony Santa Monica and creative director Cory Barlog, is piling up expectations with tease of a highly engaging new combat system and heartwarming adventures for Kratos and his son. Curiously, Sony Santa Monica and Cory Barlog will only allow "God Of War" 4 players to play as Kratos and only allow his son to assist in "GoW" combat.
According to Gaming Bolt, Cory Barlog updated "GoW" fans with news that "God Of War" 4 development is now on the stage of "pain." "GoW" fans can take heart that "God Of War" 4 receives the same if not more attention than "God Of War 2," of which Cory Barlog was creative director and which received high praise.
The media outlet further reports that Cory Barlog hinted that "God Of War" 4 players could see a reunion between Kratos and such characters from the original "GoW" as Deimos, Zeus, Callisto, Ares, and Athena. If "God Of War" 4 brings this about for Kratos,"GoW" fans could be treated to a surprise.
One thing fans can take as certainty is that combat in "God Of War"4 will be very satisfying as Cory Barlog assured. At the moment, Cory Barlog said the new "God Of War" 4 combat system is undergoing extensive development.
One aspect of "God Of War" 4 that has been highlighted for the new "GoW" is the fatherhood role Kratos takes on. Interestingly, Cory Barlog told "GoW" fans that "God Of War" 4 players can only play as Kratos although assist control for the son is available during "GoW" combat as Segment Next reports.
This plays into the theme of developing Kratos into a more hands-on father for his mysterious "God Of War" 4 son. Sony Santa Monica warned that Kratos and his son will be fighting against major forces in "God Of War" 4 and with such a strategy, the new "GoW" seems bent on humanizing the lead with protectiveness for his boy.
"God Of War" 4 is expected to be released in 2017 as an exclusive for PlayStation 4. What aspect of "God Of War" 4 are you most excited about?
