‘Supernatural’ Season 12 First Teaser & Spoilers: Lucifer-Crowley Face-Off; Dean & Sam Bloody & Chained

The first teaser for "Supernatural" Season 12 was finally unveiled and it's not looking well for our heroes. Dean and Sam were both bloodied and in chains, while a Crowley and Lucifer face-off was also teased.

The new "Supernatural" promo debuted music icon Rick Springfield as Lucifer's new vessel, Vince Vincente. In the teaser, the fallen angel is embroiled in a confrontation with Crowley (Mark Sheppard), the former King of Hell who's intent to reclaim his kingdom back. Watch the promo below.

"Supernatural" viewers also know by now that Sam (Jared Padalecki) was captured by the British Men of Letters' Lady Toni (Elizabeth Blackmore). Dean (Jensen Ackles) will do whatever it takes to take his brother back. The Winchester brothers' newly resurrected mother Mary (Samantha Smith) agrees to Dean's plan, saying that "all that matters is getting Sam back."

Now that Mary has returned, fans of "Supernatural" will see Dean and Sam "be sons," Entertainment Weekly reported. Ackles acknowledged that viewers already witnessed the brothers be sons to their father John (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), but that dynamic will be "different" with their mother.

Though Dean and Sam will be happy that Mary is back, the reunion is bound to be awkward given that she didn't really want her sons to be hunters just like her and her whole family. Walking into a world where Dean and Sam are fully-fledged hunters will be challenging for Mary.

"Supernatural" showrunner Andrew Dabb said Season 12 will throw Dean, Sam, Mary, Crowley, and Castiel (Misha Collins) often together. A friendship is also in store for Mary and Castiel, which stemmed from the fact that they're both outsiders with the brothers "yet feeling connected to them."

Collins said Castiel would push Dean and Sam to "confront the emotional bomb that is their mother showing up," EW further reported. That "emotional bomb" will feature Sam approaching Mary's return in a rational way and Dean's reaction leans more into the emotional aspect of the situation, which is not unlike how the brothers usually deal with things.

Adam Rose will reprise his role as Aaron in "Supernatural" Season 12 to help Dean and Sam fight Hitler, who will be resurrected by the Thule Society, a secret group of Nazi occultists, Parent Herald previously reported. A Castiel-centric episode is also coming, while Crowley will deal with a potential romance with the grim reaper Billie (Lisa Berry) as the demon fights to retake Hell. "Supernatural" Season 12 premieres on Thursday, Oct. 13 at 9/8c on The CW.
