Wayne Rooney Getting Punish? Left Out From Playing At Manchester United Match

Fans of Wayne Rooney got shocked when Wayne Rooney was left behind by Manchester United's 20 man squad as the group flow to Rotterdam for Thursday's Europa League match against Feyenoord.

Wayne Rooney together with Luke Shaw, Jesse Lingard and Antonio Valencia were part of the group that was training at the club's Carrington base. But were also not included in the 20 man squad battling with Feyenoord. Henrikh Mikhitaryan and Phil Jones did not take part with the training on Wednesday morning and was also not included with the upcoming 20 man squad.

Manchester United also confirmed that Rooney will not be playing with them although Captain Wayne Rooney is very much prepared. However, Jose Mourinho wants to use his full squad which could explain why six of Manchester United players will not be playing.

With the decision of Wayne Rooney not playing, fans are concluding that the captain is resting. However, critics are also indicating that Rooney's performance at the start of the season is not that impressive compared to his previous starts.

While Wayne Rooney has broken Sir Bobby Charlton's England scoring record with his 50th international goal, according to Sky Sports and may have already cemented his status as one of the best athletes, however, Manchester United's loyal fans are also scrutinizing Rooney for not being able to score for United during its of 10 Premier League games.

Many United supporters are asking for the 30-year-old captain to be dropped from Manchester United as they are not impressed by his performance, Manchester Evening News reported. Mourinho was asked if the decision not to have the other players play on Thursday is a form of punishment or if certain individuals should fear for their places.

"No, it's not to punish, it is just to decide in relation to what I have, and what do I have with their performances," Mourinho explains. "So, of course, I'm going to play other players."
