'Grey's Anatomy' Season 13 Latest News & Spoilers: Meredith And Alex May End Up Together? Jo's Domestic Abuse Hunts Her

"Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 will be coming just a few days after and fans will be able to see more screen time for Alex as he may eventually end up in jail. This season the original characters will be the main focus of the show and that includes Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Alex (Justin Chambers).

Rumors are circulating that there is a possibility that Meredith and Alex may have more that friendship this season. As the duo is the remaining of the original characters from season one. Their friendship has also grown stronger over the seasons that many of "Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 are vying for the pair to hit it off.

However, Shonda Rhimes denied the possibility of a Meredith-Alex relationship since the two considers their relationship as like a brother and a sister relationship, Entertainment reported. Even Ellen Pompeo considers Justin Chambers as a brother as they have been working together for thirteen years so having them pair may look very awkward off screen and on screen.

The friendship of Mer and Alex will be one of the highlights of "Grey's Anatomy" Season 13. The season finale of "Grey's Anatomy" Season 12 ended with Alex beating DeLuca to death. And Meredith will end up protecting Alex from a possible jail time.

Andrew DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti), on the other hand, will survive on "Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 and further development on his role will be made. However, as his life almost ended, he will not want any part on Jo and Alex' drama.

Shonda Rhimes reveals that DeLuca will find himself in a spotlight he is not even interested to take part of. And that he will have a bigger storyline this time around, Moviefone reported.

Jo may also not wanting to go back to Alex since she also escapes an abusive husband. All may not be well for Alex on "Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 but it will also test Meredith and Alex friendship.

"Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 will premiere on Thursday, September 22 at 8:00 PM EST on ABC.
