J.R. Smith has hit the free agency market this offseason along with LeBron James. However, the King has already re-signed with Cleveland Cavaliers while Smith remains in the free market. Reports have it that Cavs and Smith are still working on a deal but more likely Smith will re-sign.

For those following J.R. Smith's career, the shooting guard did not have a smooth run in the NBA league. However, he redeemed himself after joining Cleveland Cavaliers. Smith along with LeBron James, Kevin Love, Kyrie Irving and Tristan Thompson delivered Cavs its first NBA title. It was also Smith's first NBA champion.

Parent Herald previously reported that Cleveland Cavaliers want J.R. smith to return but they are still far from reaching a deal. Both parties are still working on a deal because Smith is reportedly demanding for a $15 million deal but Cavs only offered a $10 million deal.

Reports have it that no team is currently bidding for J.R. Smith, so Cavs did not feel the need to increase their offer to the shooting guard. However, Smith and Cleveland Cavaliers both want to reunite this NBA season.

New reports suggest that the issue that J.R. Smith and Cleveland Cavaliers are working out is not about money but the length of the contract. According to Cleveland.com, Smith and his agent Rich Paul have never confirmed about the figure that they are demanding to Cavs. However, the deal dispute is more of the length of the contract. Cleveland Cavaliers want a shorter deal.

Per the report, Cavs have already given into J.R. Smith's demand. The team offered the player a $10 million contract with a player's option for the second season of the 2015-16 campaign after Smith declined the $6.4 million contract. Unfortunately, Smith failed to generate great deals on the open market.

Despite the disputes and disagreement, sources are positive that J.R. Smith will re-sign with Cleveland Cavaliers. Reports have it that Kevin Love and LeBron James also want to play with Smith this season. In fact, James is excited to have Smith as his wing backcourt mate.
