NBA Trade Rumors: Sacramento Kings Actively Shopping Ben McClemore; The New York Knicks Showed Interest To McClemore

Ben McClemore has been in several NBA trade rumors for the past months and is now actively trading by the Sacramento Kings. The Kings are now trying to build their core as the new NBA season starts.

In a report held by the ESPN, the Sacramento Kings are actively shopping Ben McClemore along with Kosta Koufus. It was confirmed by the Kings right Rudy Gay announced his plan to opt out next season.

As the Sacramento Kings are looking for a good trade partner for Ben McClemore, the Knicks are likely to be getting hooked up. In a report by Sports Blog previously, Ben McClemore caught the attention of the New York Knicks.

The Knicks are currently undergoing a roster surgery as their current roster have been upgraded since the arrival of Derrick Rose, Courtney Lee, Joakim Noah and Brandon Jennings. The Knicks are still looking for a bench depth, especially at shooting guard position.

Ben McClemore would be a good fit to the Knicks, he could provide explosiveness on the driving lane. McClemore can also stretch the floor with his outside shooting.

Several basketball analysts mentioned before that Ben McClemore can be a backup star player if given right role and a good motivation. Ben McClemore has a high ceiling and has a plenty of space to improve. In the past 3 years of playing in the NBA, it showed that he struggles to create his own shots, thus, making him inefficient.

Phil Jackson is known to be a good coach, a good motivator and can drive each player to play outside their comfort zone. If Ben McClemore could be acquired by the Knicks, there is no doubt that McClemore cannot improve.

On the other hand, the Sacramento Kings haven't seen in the NBA playoffs for the past decade, and obviously with their current roster, management issues and high competition in the Western Conference, it is easy to say that the Kings would not make it to the post-season for the 11th time. The Kings need to work on their roster, coaching and management, they need to make sure of the trust in each and everyone and act as early as possible.
