"The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 spoilers claim that Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev reunion may turn out differently. According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, Paul Wesley recently posted a photo on Instagram, which reveals that he will be directing one of the episodes for the upcoming season of The CW drama.

The girl in the said photo seems to resemble Dobrev, which sparked rumors that when the actress returns in "TVD" Season 8, she will not be reuniting with Damon. Instead, Elena may reunite with her first love in the show, Stefan.

As most fans can recall, Elena and Stefan were the first to fall in love in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 1. Things only turned out differently when many fans noticed the undeniable chemistry between Dobrev's Elena and Somerhalder's Damon.

However, if this were to happen in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8, then many "Steroline" fans would also find it unfair. In an interview with Julie Plec, she told TVLine that things appear to be pretty stable for Caroline and Stefan in the final season of the show.

"The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 spoilers reveal, however, that Damon will be going through quite a lot next season. According to Plec, the premiere will show a darker version of Damon, which is different from the previous times he turned dark and evil. This could mean that the only person who could rescue him is his love, Elena.

Should "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 feature a reunion between Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder's "Delena" or should "Stelena" happen? Share your thoughts in the comments section below!
