'Hunger Games' Forcefully Played By Kids: 'Smack For A Snack' Run In A Kentucky Day Care

Apparently, it is a survival of the fittest in a daycare center in Kentucky as the care providers were reportedto have been engaging kids in a game called "Smack For A Snack." The game was coerced by the staff members to beplayed by the children in exchange of a yogurt.

According to Washington Post, authorities are now running an investigation at New Creation Child Care after a mother complained about spotting mysterious swatting marks etched on her children's skin. Since then, police investigatorsof Lexington started opening an inquiry.

Initially when asked about the children's marks, staff members said that the kids were found playing with ruler. Later on, investigators at Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services found out that a worker was the oneresponsible for the hitting of children.

As per the Office of Inspector General's latest statement released Friday, the institution has been already "placed under intermediate sanctions which called for increased monitoring of the daycare." New Creation Child Care has also been subjected to monitoring just so the officials can make sure that they are fulfilling the sanctions consistently.

In a report by Time, a 10-year-old girl accounted that the teacher instructed them of "Smack For A Snack" game. According to her, the teacher said they have to be hit in either of the limbs to get a yogurt their parentsdutifully paid in the first place.

Meanwhile, a seven-year-old told the investigators that everyone were hit at the day-care center. At least two children are found with bruises in their limbs, and a male worker has already been charged of second-degree assault.

WKYT reported that aside from the alleged swatting, a worker was said to have assaulted a child by knocking the kid'shead into the window, leading to the center's front window being shattered. Also, irregularities and lax protection to the children were cited.

In the day-care, the ratio of children to staff member is 27 to one. There was no "sign-out" and "sign-in" for thechildren as well, posting threat and danger to the kids and their families.
