Is 'Pokemon Go' Going For Good?

In the history of the App Store and Play Store, "Pokemon Go" has been the fastest downloaded application having been downloaded over 500 million times worldwide. Indeed "Pokemon" has become a phenomenon not just for kids, but also for young adults who have grown up following this trend.

As soon as "Pokemon Go" was released, millions of people immediately downloaded it. The "Pokemon GO" players were excited to capture their own Pokemon, level these Pokemon up, secure their own gyms, and be the best that no one ever was, just like how they naturally play it in the Nintendo games on their Gameboys and Nintendo 3DS.

Just like many other things, the hype brought by "Pokemon Go" pummeled down after some time, and there was a steady decline on interested users. TechRadar points out that over 10 million players have already stopped using "Pokemon Go" around July up to the middle of August.

There were a lot of issues why players stopped playing "Pokemon Go" all of a sudden. One of which is its battery life and mobile data consumption where the constant playing of "Pokemon Go" easily drains the battery and consumes data quicker than the usual.

Gyms also felt pointless despite the fact that this was the only area a player could battle as they felt that gyms were pretty difficult to maintain and that the battling experience in "Pokemon Go" was different. According to some players, there were just a lot of missing factors in "Pokemon Go" that made the original games much memorable and much better.

Despite that, UberGizmo reports that "Pokemon Go" still earns $2M a day, but this is quite far from the $16M a day that the company earned before. Will "Pokemon Go" ever bounce back to its popularity?

Most players are optimistic that "Pokemon Go" will be here to stay for the fact that developers have already planned out the game's capability of battling outside the gyms. There are also a lot of things that could be added and improved in the game such as having tournaments, a better battling experience, another generation of "Pokemon", and so much more.

"Pokemon Go" is still at its early stages, and there is so much room for improvement, innovation, and updates. Players will have to stay tuned as time will tell whether "Pokemon Go" is here to stay or become just another app that the world will totally forget.
