NBA Rumors: 3-Team Trade Between Clippers, Kings & Trail Blazers? Blake Griffin To Portland, Rudy Gay To LA?

Trade rumors are still abounding in the NBA. The latest of which involves a three-team trade between the Los Angeles Clippers, the Portland Trail Blazers, and the Sacramento Kings.

In the trade, the Clippers will let go of Griffin and get the Kings' Rudy Gay, Allen Crabbe, Myers Leonard, and a 2018 pick in return, Sportsrageous reported from NBA Trade Rumor. Griffin will head to the Trail Blazers, while the Kings will acquire the Trail Blazers' point forward Noah Vonleh.

Griffin's power forward skills can greatly benefit the Trail Blazers, which has to recover from its poor performance last NBA season. Griffin would help Damian Lillard ease back a little bit and spread the floor on offense at the same time. The potential three-team trade would also "open up the shaded area and give C.J. McCollum more room to work," Sportsrageous noted.

The Clippers, on the other hand, needs a rebuild now that its aging roster (Jamal Crawford and Paul Pierce) are near retirement. Naturally, new talents should be added to the Clippers and Gay, Crabbe, and Leonard's gameplays would fit well with the team. Gay's small forward talents can replace what Crawford and Pierce would leave behind, while Clippers coach Doc Rivers can help propel Crabbe and Leonard as NBA All-Stars.

It was also reported that Gay plans to "become an unrestricted free agent and considers himself unlikely to negotiate a new deal to return to the franchise," according to The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski. Aside from the Clippers, Gay can also head to the Miami Heat, but that would be a problem because the team currently lacks the tradable assets they need to acquire Gay.

The Kings, meanwhile, will need a player to assist DeMarcus Cousins' offense and serve as his wingman, too. Vonleh would fit well into this role even though he doesn't have a breakout season yet. Kings coach Dave Joerger could motivate the 21-year-old Vonleh and help him unleash the talents he exhibited in his college days.

In college, Vonleh was a member of the Third-team All-Big Ten, Big Ten Freshman of the Year, Big Ten All-Freshman Team, and McDonald's All-American. Vonleh was first drafted to the Charlotte Hornets in 2014.

Would this three-team trade benefit the Clippers, Kings, and the Trail Blazers? Is Griffin a good fit to Portland? Tell us your thoughts in the comments section below and be sure to follow Parent Herald for the latest NBA news and trade rumors.
